Financial Analyst

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Position Summary

The Financial Analyst analyzes historical financial data to guide businesses in optimizing investments to maximize profit. Consolidate financial results for reporting to high level management. Able to demonstrate good sound judgement and versatility in decision-making and problem solving. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Providing creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance

  • Consolidate and analyze financial data (budgets, income statement forecasts etc.) considering company’s goals and financial standing

  • Assemble and summarize data to create sophisticated reports on financial status and risks that enable management teams to make strategic decisions to meet business goals

  • Develop financial models, conduct benchmarking and process analysis

  • Identify trends, advise company and recommend actions to a senior financial analyst based on sound analysis

  • Track and determine financial status by analyzing actual results in comparison with forecasts

  • Reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting data

  • Consult with management to guide and influence long term and strategic decision making within the broadest scope

  • Drive process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact the function

  • Evaluate and analyze capital expenditures, depreciation, proposals, investments opportunities, operating records financial statements, etc.

  • Increase productivity by developing automated accounting applications and coordinating information requirements

  • Any other duties as assigned

 

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office and financial software applications

  • Outstanding presentation, reporting and communication skills

  • Proven knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis, corporate finance and information analysis

  • Attention to detail and the ability to identify data patterns

  • Great interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and Teams

  • Ability to work in a self-motivated environment with little supervision

  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Must demonstrate comfort and willingness to work in dynamic settings

 

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree, preferably with a major in finance, economics or statistics or related business field is required

  • Hands on experience with statistical analysis and financial forecasting 

  • Proven working experience as a Finance Analyst or similar experience

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position
